This is another one of those recipes my spouse grew up with. I had only eaten them made from a pre-packaged, boxed mix. My mother didn’t much like the result, either. So, these were a wonderful surprise that I could hardly stop eating, they were so good. And so simple!
3 medium potatoes, peeled
1 ½ cups milk
salt and pepper
4 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons butter
1. Slice all potatoes thinly, then place them in a bowl of cold water.
2. Drain potato slices, and arrange one layer in a buttered baking dish.
3. Sprinkle the layer with some salt, pepper, flour, and butter.
4. Cover with milk and bake at 400° for 45-50 min.
