“Basa is a very mild, firm white fish. It is delicious whether grilled, roasted, baked, sautéed, deep-fried, or panfried. Try this French-style basa.
Easy Recipe:
1 pound basa fillets
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
½ cup flour
2 eggs, beaten
1 small tomato, chopped
½ orange, peeled and chopped
2 tablespoons bottled Italian salad dressing
½ lemon, peeled and chopped
Easy Steps:
Thaw fillets if frozen. Heat oil in skillet over medium-high heat.
Coat basa with flour. Dip in beaten egg and then dip in flour again; place in hot skillet
Cook 2 – 3 min.; turn and cook an additional 2 – 3 min. Fish should flake easily when tested with a fork.
Arrange basa on serving dish; top with tomatoes and chopped orange; drizzle with Italian dressing. Serve with lemon wedges. Serves 4.
Recipe Note: Securely wrapped frozen fish can remain in the freezer for 6 months.”
