Barbara’s Oatmeal Cookies

1 cup margarine, softened
1 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon salt
1 tablespoon baking soda

1 cup raisins
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 ½ cups sifted flour
3 cups uncooked rolled oats
1 cup chopped nuts

Heat oven to 350°.

  1. In a large bowl, mix together margarine, brown sugar, salt, and baking soda. Add raisins, white sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract, and beat well.
  2. In a separate bowl, combine flour, rolled oats, and nuts. Add this mixture to the first bowl, stirring just to blend.
  3. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 min. When done, remove from baking sheet and cool on a rack to room temperature.
