Sweet Potato and Black Bean Chili

2 cloves garlic, chopped
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 sweet potatoes, peeled and cubed
1 cup water
1 can (19 ounce) black beans, drained
1 cup mild salsa
1 tablespoon chili powder

Sauté chopped garlic and onions in oil until onions are translucent. Add chili powder, sauté 30 seconds more. Add cubed sweet potatoes and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil, then cover and steam for 10 min. or until tender. Add black beans and salsa, bring back to the boil and simmer for 10 min.
